POSITION SUMMARY
The Vice President, US Councils, Executive Programs is responsible for the U.S. Council business, ensuring profitability, growth, quality, and the delivery of value to members. Working closely with colleagues in each of the Centers, Conferences, Sales and support functions, this leader will drive systems and processes to ensure that our member-customers are always front and center. Listening to and anticipating their needs, she/he will deliver on our promises.
 
To ensure that our 100-year tradition of convening senior functional executives continues to thrive, she/he will develop a top-notch team to execute on our commitments and innovate our products and processes. As a member of the Management Committee, she/he will share leadership of the organization and help formulate and drive corporate strategy. She/he is expected to be a role model of our values and leadership behaviors.
 
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to the Senior Vice President, Executive Programs. Manages Associate Directors, Executive Programs (8)
 
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES
  • Manages the P&L of the U.S. Council business
    • Monitors and measures key performance indicators including annual surplus, new sales, replacements, attendance, quits, individual council profitability and customer satisfaction
    • Works with Business Analyst to build and manage revenue and expense budgets
    • Identifies opportunities and seeks out new products and methods for delivering value. Launches new Councils based on a viability analysis
  • Development and execution of the annual and long- term growth strategy for Councils
  • Partners with Center leaders and Conferences to provide meaningful experiences for our members, helping them make sense of a rapidly changing business environment
  • Works with Associate Directors to ensure that our Councils are appropriately staffed and supported.  Ensuring high-quality service delivery
  • Partners with Conferences and Member Development to nurture relationships with current and prospective members
  • Develops a high-performing team in a positive employee experience 
    • Coaching and developing direct reports and the Managers, Executive Programs
    • Hiring, engaging, training and retaining excellent Program Directors
  • Monitoring the competition through formal competitive analysis on a regular basis
  • Serves on the Management Committee
  • Completes projects and other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
  • A proven leader, who can motivate a team
  • 10+ years of experience in a professional organization in marketing, client services or business development
  • 5+ years of experience managing a P&L 
  • Experience working in a matrix organization structure
  • An MBA is desirable
  • Exceptional analytical and operational skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proactive problem solver, solutions focused
  • Strong computer skills and aptitude
