Position Summary

The Conference Board is seeking a Business Development Director to secure financial support for the future after the expiry of the initial grant funding.

The position involves sales of Institutional, Center, Council and Insight Packages in the Gulf region,  preparation of proposals for research projects and grants from regional funding organizations and supervision of all sales activity in the Gulf Center.

He/she works independently and in partnership with colleagues to reach sales targets, build client relationships, and achieve revenue growth targets.  This senior role involves primarily securing new sales and also providing coaching and guidance to junior sales managers and other Gulf Center staff.

The position will report to the Managing Director, International of The Conference Board. It will involve regular interaction with Gulf Center research and operations staff in Kuwait.

The location for this role could be any of the Gulf Cooperation countries, ideally Kuwait, Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates. It will involve significant travel among GCC countries.

The candidate will have a strong commercial acumen and proven sales track record in the Gulf region. He/she will be fluent in Arabic and English and able to form strong business relationships at senior levels of management.

The Sales Director will have a competitive base salary and is eligible for commission based on sales results.
