Position Summary:

The Graphic Designer works collaboratively with The Conference Board’s research teams, editors and Creative Director to create innovative and engaging content and marketing storytelling output, that provide insights relevant to our Members and helps elevate our brand awareness and prominence.


The Graphic Designer is responsible for the design of innovative and engaging content that elevate The Conference Board’s business insights. Designer works closely with our research, publishing, and content marketing teams conceptualizing visually compelling designs to deepen engagement and expand the reach of our content. Secondary responsibilities include design and creative support across the organization for promotional and business program outreach campaigns.

Essential Functions:

  • Create graphic designs and layouts to effectively communicate key messages working closely across the publishing, content marketing and web development teams to ensure designs are leveraged across multiple channels efficiently and in engaging user experiences. 
  • Design economic and business data and content into simple and engaging graphics for multiple formats and media. Formats will include online, interactive, print, and presentations. Graphics will include designs for infographics, data visualization, maps, charting, and diagrams.
  • Designer will also work with marketing and business units across a wide range of projects for support of outreach campaigns. Designs will be leveraged cross-media and will include brand and membership communications, event marketing, and publications.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong design and development experience for online, interactive, print and video formats.
  • Graphic design and data analysis and visualization.
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills in designing content that communicates complex concepts with data in simple and compelling stories.
  • Familiar with storytelling concepts.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of and interest in wide range of business and economic topics, in particular: economic environment, corporate leadership, ESG, and human capital issues.
  • Good project management and time management skills.
  • Manage multiple priorities and projects.
  • Must be comfortable collaborating.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain client relationships (internal and external).
  • Manage and organize design content assets in support of the design team.
  • Production of content and marketing projects as assigned.  

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • At least 3-5 years of experience designing business and economic content, data visualization and/or infographics.
  • Preference to candidates that have a degree in Graphic design and/or data visualization or demonstrated experience.
  • Interpersonal skills are critical, as position requires heavy internal and external contact during design and development.
  • Strong competency in HTML/CSS, interactive content, charting/graphics development, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom, MS PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Python, R (data analysis) and JavaScript is a plus
